What do eavestroughs do and why do I need them? How can you tell I need new gutters?

The obvious reason to change your eavestroughs is if they are leaking, detaching from the house, retaining water due to improper sloping, have obvious holes in them or are growing plants inside of them (we have seen it all over the years). Less common but still valid - to change colour and improve the overall aesthetic of your home.

What is a seamless eavestrough?

A seamless eavestrough means that the gutters are connected end to end without the addition of a pre-fabricated corner piece. This greatly reduces the locations for a potential leak and it also looks more aesthetically pleasing.

What gauges (thickness) and what size do new eavestroughs come in?

The aluminum gauges are pre-fabricated from the supplier. Most commonly the guage is 0.07 mm thick. If anyone tries to sell you on gauge thickness its likely a sales tactic. New eavestroughs come in size 5” and 6”. 5” is a perfectly good size for a residential home.

What colours do the new eavestroughs come in?

We have a range of colors to choose from. There are some that are special order and take longer to order, however the pricing does not change based on color for eavestrough, soffit and fascia. Siding does have a price difference for color with darker colors costing more.

Are the new eavestroughs guaranteed?

Yes, we offer a 3 year guarantee for gutters installed with the traditional hanger fastening system and a 10 year warranty on gutters using Alu-Rex fastening system. * the warranty covers corner and downspout leaks as well as worksmanship.

Are there different styles of eavestroughs? (what kind of gutters do you install?)

Our machine produces K-Style eavestroughs.

Why would the wood fascia board behind my eavestroughs rot?

Water is a mighty force and when allowed to penetrates behind the aluminum fascia from the shingles above. Usually this a result of short shingle installation or missing drip edge underneath the shingles which causes the shingles to curve and water to seep behind the eavestrough instead of inside.

What happens if the wood behind my eavestrough is rotted?

The new gutter will not be sturdy and will likely detach from the wood if we do not change it. If the wood is rotted we would have to replace the affected area and install new wood fascia boards.

Do I need to be home for my installation and how long will it take?

You do not need to be home for the installation as we work only on the outside of the house. We just need access all around the house and an exterior working outlet.
